The Yankees former failed prospect is back in pro baseball.
Frazier spent five of his seven years in MLB with the New York Yankees after he was acquired from Cleveland in theOnce a top prospect within the Yankees’ farm system, hailed by general manager Brian Cashman for his “legendary” bat speed, Frazier’s six years in the organization were turbulent,. He flashed his potential at times, but injuries, issues off the field and his spot on the Yankees’ depth chart limited the outfielder to just 228 games over parts of five years.
His Yankees career was tainted by concussions and vertigo, which ended his Yankees season in 2021. In November of that year, the Yankees released him as he hit .186 and struck out 65 times in 218 plate appearances across 66 games. The next two years he again struggled to find success as Frazier bounced from the Chicago Cubs to the White Sox, where he last played in 2023 and again hit below .200 .
