The ex-wife of former Belarusian ice hockey player Konstantin Kolstov says his death earlier this week was not suicide, as suspected by police, but an accident. News emerged on Tuesday that Kolstov — who also recently split with two-time Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka after a three-year relationship — had passed away suddenly in Miami. The Miami-Dade Police Department called it an “apparent suicide” after being called to a Bal Harbour apartment in the early hours of Monday morning.
” Mikhailova and the kids were not there at the time of Koltsov’s death, but said they plan to go to the scene on Thursday, where she says his suitcase “with clothes and things” were still left at the hotel. Sabalenka is currently playing in the Miami Open, not far from where her ex-partner died. The 42-year-old was widely reported as Sabalenka’s boyfriend and it was believed he was in Florida to support her at the Miami Open this week.
