In November of 2018, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant had a heated argument on the Warriors bench in a game against the Clippers.
For The WinAfter winning two championship rings and two NBA Finals MVP awards in Golden State, Kevin Durant passed on the chance to sign a supermax deal with the Warriors and took less money to play alongside Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn.
According to Durant's former Thunder teammate Kendrick Perkins, however, Durant's mind may have been made up after a midseason incident with Draymond Green. Via Yahoo:"Green called Durant [an expletive] multiple times, sources said. In a summarized version, sources said Green shouted, 'You're a [expletive] and you know you're a [expletive].' The rhetoric, sources said, continued even when Kerr attempted to direct the team's attention to his whiteboard. ... Green blurted to Durant something along the lines of, 'We don't need you. We won without you. Leave," sources said.
"KD never bounced back from the Draymond situation," said Perkins, who was a teammate of Durant's on the Oklahoma City Thunder."And I think the Warriors had a chance to sign KD, but when that situation occurred — and the Warriors tried to clean it up by suspending Draymond.
