While the Seattle Seahawks were busy beating the New York Jets, one of their former players inked a deal with the top team in the NFC. Former All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has agreed to sign with the Detroit Lions practice squad.
’s Adam Schefter says the expectation is that Adams will get gameday roster elevations. Detroit is dealing with a ton of injuries on defense at all three levels, so perhaps Adams could serve more as an auxiliary linebacker than an actual safety. Adams was released by the Seahawks as a cap casualty this offseason, ending a mostly injury-riddled three-year stint in Seattle following a blockbuster trade from the Jets to the Seahawks in 2020.
