An ex-police officer has vanished on a Greek Island just days after TV doctor Michael Mosley was found dead on the island of Symi.
A search operation was launched on Tuesday afternoon with additional support called in from Naxos island. Police have also requested data from mobile operators in an attempt to pinpoint the man's last known location. It comes after Michael Mosley, the popular TV doctor and nutritionist, died last week after going for a walk in the wilderness on the island of Symi. Search teams spent nearly four days searching for the 67-year-old before he was discovered behind a wall just feet away from a resort on Agia Marina beach.
University lecturer in sports and health sciences at Exeter University, Chris Byrne, pointed out that the circumstances encompassing Michael's death exhibited common signs of a lethal heatstroke. He pushed the message about the risk carried when embarking on exercising during periods of severe heat.
