Piazza died after a night of drinking and hazing at a Penn State fraternity house. Star-Ledger file photo HARTwo former college students who led a fraternity where a pledging member from New Jersey died during a hazing incident pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal charges over the death, according to authorities.
Young was the president of Beta Theta Pi while Casey was the vice president, Pennsylvania prosecutors said. Both directly oversaw the pledging process when Piazza died in 2017. The attorney general’s office accepted referrals of both cases from the Centre County District Attorney’s Office. Appeals of pre-trial court rulings have delayed proceedings in both cases.
