Austin Hopp pleaded guilty Wednesday to an assault charge that's punishable by two to eight years in prison.

Another officer was charged with failing to report use of force, failing to intervene and official misconduct."We extend a deep and heartfelt apology to Karen Garner and her family for what they have endured as a result of this arrest," city's manager Steve Adams said in a statement announcing the settlement.

Garner's daughter, Allisa Swartz told in May that"I don't want to see this happen to anyone else's families, again, I don't want to see it."
