Former Detroit Lions and Notre Dame star Jalen Elliott earned a roster spot after his strong preseason.

The Bills won the game, 16-15. season-ending injury, Elliott did enough to prove to the Steelers that he had earned his way onto their 53-man roster.
This is not to say that Elliott will be on the 53-man roster for the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons. The Steelers could end up cutting him to add a slot cornerback or a wide receiver, but a defensive lineman is far likelier to be cut than Elliott at this stage, too.
