Ex- NFL first round draft pick and Ohio State star Darron Lee has been arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend, according to multiple reports.
in Nashville, Lee’s girlfriend was found in a home near Oolteway Elementary School Thursday. Police were reportedly dispatched to the location, and attempted life-saving measures before the woman succumbed to her injuries. The outlet said that the 31-year-old Lee was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody at the scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Lee was arrested in 2023 in Dublin, Ohio after police said they responded to a call from his child’s mother claiming that he had attacked his mother, Candice Lee. Lindsey McGlone reportedly told police she heard Candice Lee yell, and that when she ran up the stairs to see what was going on, she saw her laying on her back with Darron “overtop of her with a raised fist.” Candice Lee told police she went to the residence because McGlone told her she didn’t feel safe around her son. She reportedly said that after she told Darron that he needed to leave the residence, he pushed her into the wall and then got on top of her and punched her in the face and the back of the head several times. Police reportedly said that Candice Lee had swelling on her left cheek. And, they said, McGlone told them that on Oct. 17 of that year, Darron got on top of her in their bed and told her “that he would kill her and their child.” The 6-foot-1, 232 pounder was a standout at Ohio State and helped the Buckeyes win the 2015 national title. He was taken in the first round, 20th overall, by the New York Jets in 2016.
