Marumo Gallants are on the verge of finalising a deal to sign former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange. The 32-year-old has been training with Gallants since leaving SSU, and the club is now close to completing the transfer, with only a few details remaining. This move comes as Gallants prepare for a busy pre-season and plan to announce several new signings before the 2024/2025 Betway Premiership season kicks off.
Maluleka had to leave Chiefs on June 30, coinciding with the end of his contract, even though the season extended until September due to COVID-19 delays. Chiefs lost the league title to Sundowns on the final day of the season, adding to the controversy surrounding Maluleka’s departure. Maluleka expressed his regret over the timing, stating, “It was my decision to go to Sundowns but not at that point.” He emphasised his desire to finish the season with Chiefs and win the league.
