Jalen Hurts regressed last season. Will he bounce back in 2024?

quarterback Jalen Hurts is going to have to do it — win a Super Bowl — to turn the naysayers into believers.

Hurts was selected in the second round of the 2020 draft by the Eagles after a college career that saw him throw 80 touchdowns and rush for 40 more TDs. He lost the title game in 2017 as a starter and in 2019 as a backup and won it behind Tua Tagovailoa in 2018. Hurts has proven to be an above average NFL quarterback, though 2023 was a letdown, especially after signing a five-year, $255 million extension. After finishing second in MVP voting in 2022, Hurts threw for more yards , more touchdowns and more interceptions in 2023. He also presided over a team that lost six of its last seven games, including the wild-card loss, after starting the season 10-1.
