One-time Danish starlet David Boysen has told the story of his encounter with the legendary Hoops captain.
A former Celtic trialist has revealed how he nicked Scott Brown ’s training gear after the legendary Hoops captain 'humiliated' him during his failed audition.
And Dane David Boysen was so peeved by Brown's behaviour, he has been a fan of fierce rivals Rangers ever since. Boysen travelled to Scotland in January 2010 during Neil Lennon’s time in charge and he played in the reserve team for a trial match with Brown also turning out for the second string as he worked his way back from injury.
Boysen, who was at AB Copenhagen at the time and went on to play for a string of clubs in his homeland as well as in Holland and Israel, has now spoken of that brief stint when he tried to impress at Celtic in Danish podcast Hojt Spil. He explained: "I was on trial at Celtic, but after a couple of days, I realised it was never going to work out. On the second last day we had a trial match where I scored in a match we won 1-0.
"Scott Brown then asks the coach to take me out, right after I've scored for 1-0. He'd actually been humiliating me the previous days as well, so me and my buddy, who I brought with me over there, we sneak into their dressing room right after, and I'm furious. I'd had enough of him by now. “So I go straight in and steal all his clothes, well, all his training clothes, mind you - not his personal ones. Then we go straight to McDonald's, and then we head to a strip club in the evening. We have to train the next day before I fly home, but they didn't see me any more in Celtic.
