Newman pleaded guilty to domestic violence-strangulation/suffocation and second-degree domestic violence. Newman was given credit for 546 days already served – 63 days in the Shelby County Jail and 483 on electronic monitoring at home. “That day, I had been consuming alcohol since 11 a.m. that morning in celebration of our nuptials,’’ Newman wrote.
