Ezekiel Emanuel, an oncologist and former adviser for Joe Biden, made a shocking statement Monday regarding the timeline of the former president’s prostate cancer. Biden announced on Sunday that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of the cancer that has spread to his bones.

Emanuel, the brother of former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, went over the recommended screening measures for men who are 70 and older. HuffPost noted there are “no public records” that Biden took a PSA blood test. “It is a little surprising to many of us oncologists that he wasn’t diagnosed earlier,” Emanuel said. Emanuel said that both former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush tested for prostate cancer, and that it was “a little surprising that doctor didn’t take it” when Biden was president. “And if he took it and didn’t report it and it was elevated, that is another case of doctors not being straightforward with us,” he said.“He did not develop it in the last 100 to 200 days,” he said. “He had it while he was president. He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021.
