Ex-Al Nassr Star Blames Boss For Mane Criticism

A former Al Nassr star has blamed the club's current head coach for the criticism Sadio Mane has endured since joining the Saudi Pro League giants. The Senegal icon joined the Knights of Najd at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, but despite being directly involved in 30 goals in his first 49 matches for the club, it seems the Bambaly native has come under intense scrutiny for not scoring enough.

There have even been rumours that the two-time CAF Men's Player of the Year could already be leaving Riyadh in this transfer window. Former Al Nassr midfielder Fahad Al-Bishi, however, believes the reason for Mane's"lack" of goals has to do with the absence of confidence head coach Luis Castro has in his west African forward."We all know that he is not a goalscorer but has other great qualities.

"He puts in a lot of effort and his physical condition is excellent. I believe that Mane was not given confidence by the most important man in the victory system last season, which is Luis Castro. "If he shines, he takes him out and if he scores, he takes him out. He prevents him from playing in important tournaments."He did not give him any incentives to play, and therefore his self-confidence was shaken a lot. Mane is not a goalscorer and he was not at Liverpool, and Al Nassr signed him knowing that."For 14 free days, you can have access to the best from Soccer Laduma, KickOff, Daily Sun, TrueLove and Drum.
