There’s a massive new display on the significantly updated GV80 SUV.
expands its lineup, its annual sales have similarly surged. A key driver of this success in the U.S. has been its, which accounted for 48,924 out of a total of 68,798 units moved in 2023. Genesis SUV offerings include three primary models available in a variety of configurations: the all-electric GV60, the gasoline and electric GV70 compact SUV, and the GV80 midsize SUV. To keep the lineup fresh, Genesis has added more standard features to many of its models.
Genesis offers the GV60 in 33 states as of the 2024 model year: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The cabin gets a new layout and tech upgrades. All models benefit from a massive 27.0-inch OLED display with high-resolution graphics and a redesigned wireless charging tray. Genesis adds a new crystalline shift knob, bigger cupholders in the console area, and new pedals. Some folks won’t like the GV80’s move to touch-based climate controls, as opposed to the pre-refresh model’s physical buttons. New Genesis badges round out the list of changes.
Powertrain options are expected to include a standard 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. Stepping up to the top-level powerplant brings a twin-turbo V-6 engine with an electric supercharger and a mild hybrid setup, good for 409 hp. This top-dog version of the GV80 Coupe receives a Sports+ drive mode and launch control.
A total of 13 paint colors are offered along with five interior color schemes. We anticipate the 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe will arrive later this year, undercutting other swoopy SUV rivals such as the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe at a starting price of around $60,000.
