This realization quickly led to another: practically all of ColourPop’s products are really, really great.
When it comes to lips, ColourPop’s most popular formula is its liquid lipstick . As I’m not generally a liquid-lipstick fan , I thought I would take a pass on the brand’s lip stuff — until a couple of weeks ago, at lunch with friends, when a pal asked if I had tried its other lipstick, called the Blur Lux. It was a must-buy, she said — and swore that it gave her the most perfect, subtle, slightly smudged, blurred lip she’d ever seen.
I bought my first ColourPop Blur Lux lipstick in the shade “Y2K,” a ’90s-inspired ruddy brown. It was instant love. With one swipe, you get a soft, blurry, casual, blotted lip . And if you keep swiping, it gently intensifies — you get that same blurry, slightly messy Parisian look, just with more pigment.
Other Lipsticks I Love Glossier Generation G Always a go-to — it shows up blotted but intensely matte, with a powdery, soft-focus finish.
