The following contains spoilers for Invincible Season 2 Episode 8, "I Thought You Were Stronger," now streaming on Prime Video
In many other timelines, Mark sided with his father after discovering Omni-Man's true mission to conquer Earth for the Viltrumite Empire. In the core Invincible timeline, however, Mark Grayson stuck to his heroic nature and fought his father to protect the Earth. Season 2 has underscored how unique this makes the show's version of Mark, with Angstrom claiming almost every other incarnation of him in the multiverse became a villain.
This is because they mistake Mark for a "Sapien," a species they apparently hunted to extinction years prior. This suggests that the Dinosaur Universe is one where humanity never got the chance to fully flourish.
This ranges from the character's clear costume similarities to Batman to the musical score that accompanies the scene. While some versions of Batman are portrayed as grounded takes on the superhero genres, others has plenty of experience hopping around the multiverse. This would make him an ideal person to offer advice to Mark Grayson, even if Invincible is quick to offer critiques of Batman's modus operendi. It's a solid comedy beat in an episode that's largely bereft of them.
The marauders are shown to possess the kind of costuming that's frequently seen in properties like Borderlands or The Road Warrior, suggesting at least one timeline in the Invincible multiverse was reduced to a more chaotic form. It's not clear if this world was one where the Viltrumites became involved however.
