Set up by West Yorkshire Police on behalf of the West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership, the cameras are set up in "known casualty zones" to try to keep speeds down on dangerous roads. The equipment uses a laser which operates in all weather conditions to determine speeds.
The vehicles themselves are not covert and can be seen from the road. According to the West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership, enforcement can be expected on any of these roads at any time seven days a week.Here are all the roads which have mobile speed cameras in Leeds. These locations are accurate at the time of publication but are subject to alteration without further notice.
