Based on the game of the same name, Detective Pikachu is about a young man called Tim who is estranged from his father, a police detective working in Ryme City.
Mewtwo Type: Psychic Close Description: The most powerful Pokémon in Detective Pikachu by far, Mewtwo is a man-made organism created to be an advanced clone of Mew. Mewtwo was kidnapped by Howard and used as a test subject to create a compound that would remove the Pokémon’s agency. Howard’s ultimate plan revolved around Mewtwo, who originates from the Kanto region.
Charizard Type: Fire, Flying Close Description: Charmander’s final form, Charizard is one of the most popular Pokémon of the game’s first generation. Although several Charmanders appear in the background in Detective Pikachu, one Charizard has a significant role in the film. When Tim goes to the fighting arena, the only way he can get the info he needs is by accepting a rematch between Harry’s Pikachu and the arena’s owner Charizard.
Magikarp: One of the Pokémon at the fighting arena. Although deemed useless by Tim, it evolves into Gyarados midway through the fight.
