Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness doesn’t believe the result of the Toffees’ points deduction hearing is going to make any difference to their season., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the outcome is going to be “irrelevant” for the Blues after they have already securing their Premier League status.
Sean Dyche’s side are now mathematically safe after putting an unbeaten four-game run together over the past few weeks, meaning the result of the hearing won’t have any say in which division they will be playing in next season.Wyness believes it’s going to be a fierce battle between Burnley, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest to remain in the top flight after the latter saw their points deduction appeal turned down on 7 May.
