A recycling event was held Wednesday afternoon at the Big Lake Public Library teaching kids about recycling. The event featured a speaker, relay race, and recycled projects by winners of the Mid Valley Recycling contest.
BIG LAKE, Alaska - A recycling event was held Wednesday afternoon at the Big Lake Public Library teaching kids about recycling.
The event began with a reading from “Zero Waste: How One Community Is Leading a World Recycling Revolution,” after which kids went outside to run a relay race. Amiah Clements was one of the winners who was at the event. For her project, she turned egg cartons and cardboard into bedding for her pet gerbil Periwinkle.
