Evening anchor Jonathan Martin is leaving FOX 26 Houston after seven years
On Instagram, Martin wrote:"In 2016, FOX GM D'Art Bebel took a chance on me... hiring 'the young guy' to be the station's primetime anchor. He gave me space to grow into the role and many of you rooted for me along the way."
The anchor also expressed his appreciation for those who supported"Beyond The Game," an initiative that encourages high school student-athletes to pursue passions outside of athletics; as well as SWEAT TX, a fitness program for kids he created with Houston's Parks and Recreation Department.Aside from his work at FOX 26 Houston, Martin became popular for his dancing. In 2018, he won"Dancing with the Houston Stars," an annual fundraiser for Urban Souls dance company.
