EV charging at your doorstep? Gentari teases EVChargeGO, a new 'on-the-go' EV charging service that's coming soon. It looks like it will support both AC and DC charging including CHAdeMO.
Unlike EVC and BMW’s solution which offers a single 30kW DC Charger, it appears that EVChargeGO’s solution can output DC via CCS2 and CHAdeMO ports as well as AC Type-2. Since this is going to be a mobile solution, we reckon that it should be mounted onto a van or a truck and powered by batteries. Hopefully, Gentari is using a pure electric vehicle for 100% emission-free operations.
Although EVC and BMW’s mobile charging vehicle uses an old Nissan Vanette van for its concept, the biggest highlight is the battery which uses repurposed batteries from old electrified BMW and MINIs. A total of 16 units of BMW battery modules were used to power up the DC charger which has a combined original capacity of 30kWh. Since these are old used batteries, the battery pack now offer about 20kWh of usable capacity due to the battery’s 70% State of Health.
