Eurovision commentator Graham Norton has delivered the news of who is hosting Eurovision2023
The 59 year old star, who does the BBC's commentary on the Song Contest, shared the news during Friday night's episode of The One Show and revealed that the event will take place on May 13 2023.The UK is hosting Eurovision on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine, whose act Kalush Orchestra triumphed last May.
While the competition took place in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1972, this would have been Glasgow's first time. “Playing in the same place that The Beatles started out will be a moment we’ll never forget! Although we are sad that next year’s competition cannot take place in our homeland, we know that the people of Liverpool will be warm hosts and the organisers will be able to add a real Ukrainian flavour to Eurovision 2023 in this city.”
"Being asked to host the largest and most complex music competition in the world is a great privilege. One fan wrote: “Honestly this is such a good song! Proper #Eurovision anthem.” Another tweeted: “Sam Ryder is much better than I expected.”
