Europol says it has hit a cybercrime crew known for targeting critical infrastructure companies with ransomware since 2019.

[+]European police believe they’ve made significant inroads into combating a cybercriminal operation that has been “wreaking havoc” by hitting critical infrastructure providers with ransomware since at least 2019.Friday that 12 individuals involved in either hacking companies or in laundering money via Bitcoin had been “targeted,” though wouldn’t say whether they’d been arrested or charged, though properties have been searched and items seized.
It’s unclear what impact the enforcement has had on the operation of the LockerGoga ransomware, or the other types used by the group, including MegaCortex and Dharma. Europol declined to provide more information on the action.
