It’s every Premier Soccer League player’s dream to catch a big break overseas, and striker Tshegofatso Mabasa is no different. Word reaching the Siya crew is that the Bafana Bafana international has a clause in his contract, leaving room for a possible move to Europe should it come about at any time during the transfer window.
Mabasa joined Moroka Swallows at the start of the season on a loan deal from parent club Orlando Pirates on the back of another similar spell at Sekhukhune United during the 2022/23 campaign. The forward signed for the Dube Birds on the back of a hot streak having been part of the national team in the COSAFA Cup, where he was top scorer, and got himself on the shop window at the time.
Following back-and-forth talks between the two clubs to finally agree to the move, Soccer Laduma understands there’s an agreement that Mabasa can be sold by his parent club to any suitor abroad. The 26-year-old is hoping regular game-time for Swallows under coach Steve Komphela will also play a part in getting him in Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ radar ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations next year.Get 14 days free to read all the stories on SNL24.com.
