European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron celebrated the Philippines’ Buwan Ng Wika by trying out a few popular Filipino tongue twisters.
“In honor of the Filipino language month, I would like to try a few twister for you,” he said in the video.The second tongue twister Veron tried was, “Nakakapagbagabag kapag kinakabag ka,” which means “You get nervous when you have colic .”
But aside from trying out these Filipino tongue twisters, he also issued a challenge to his followers. “To celebrate #BuwanNgWika listen to me trying a few Filipino tongue twisters and one from my native language!,” he wrote. He asked his followers to reply with a video saying the French tongue twister, “Les chaussettes de l’archiduchesse sont-elles sèches ? Elles sont sèches, archi-sèches.”August is Buwan ng Wika in the Philippines. It is a month-long annual observance to promote the national language and celebrate the people that helped in its development.
