The Boeing 737, which departed from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, crashed just six minutes into its journey to Nairobi, Kenya.
An Ethiopian Airlines plane has crashed, killing all 157 people onboard the flight, the airline confirmed on Sunday.
An eye-witness to the crash told the BBC that there had been a fire around the crash site that prevented anyone from getting near the wreckage. Tweeting about the incident, the airline provided a hotline number for relatives of crew and passengers to contact for information, but did clarify that there were no survivors of the plane crash. The airline also confirmed that there were 33 different nationalities traveling on board the airplane.
