On March 16, the Blinken will make the first visit by a U.S. Secetary of State to Niger, where he will discuss security cooperation in the Sahel with President Mohamed Bazoum and Foreign Minister Hassoumi Massaoudou in Niamey. Senior level trips this year include First Lady Jill Biden to Namibia and Kenya, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to Senegal, Zambia and South Africa, and UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to Ghana, Mozambique, Kenya, and Somalia.
