The legendary college basketball announcer released a lengthy statement on Twitter Wednesday.
This is the third time Vitale has battled cancer. He was first diagnosed with melanoma in the summer of 2021 and was diagnosed with lymphoma several months later. He announced in August that he was cancer free.
“This time last year, I was on the ESPYS stage, asking everyone to help in the cancer fight,” he wrote. “This terrible disease strikes so many of our loved ones, and it’s now knocked on my door three different times.
