President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the move during his State of Nation Address at Cape Town City Hall on Thursday night.READ:Eskom's Sikonathi Mantshantsha says they need to understand the implications of the declaration.
"With regards to the creation of a new government department for electricity, Eskom is unable to comment on any policy decisions. We will continue to work with the government through the shareholder ministry."
