Unplanned outages reduced from 15,523MW to 11,036MW between 26 April and 5 May 2024.
Load-shedding will remain suspended until further notice following 39 consecutive days of no rotational power cuts, and Eskom has markedly improved its Unplanned Capacity Loss Factor .
“Unplanned outages are on a downward trajectory and are better compared to the same period last year.” For reference, unplanned outages increased from 16,882MW to 18,198MW during the same period last year.
