Power utility Eskom says it hopes to suspend load shedding from Monday, 25 July, which would bring to an end over a month of continuous rolling blackouts.
The group published its latest load shedding schedule on Thursday , laying out the planned stages for the weekend.
“Load shedding has been confirmed until Saturday. During the weekend Eskom will communicate and confirm the outlook for the coming week,” it said. Trade, Industry and Competition Minister, Ebrahim Patel, says the government is working on addressing load shedding. In his keynote address at the conference, President Cyril Ramaphosa also spoke of the country’s energy challenge, saying this is being addressed.
