Mpho Makwana is the latest Chairperson of the Eskom Board to quit. He is expected to leave the power utility at the end of October.
Minister Pravin Gordhan has confirmed that Mpho Makwana has resigned as Eskom Chairperson and Non-Executive Director of the Eskom Board.
Makwana who holds several qualifications and serves on a number of other boards including as a non-executive chairman of ArcelorMittal South Africa said he is grateful for the opportunity he was given by the South African Government to serve a second term as a Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Eskom.Busisiwe Mavuso, CEO Business Leadership SA .
To reverse the power utility’s current predicament, government announced drastic interventions, ranging from addressing debt to operational matters.
