Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe is acting swiftly to present a memorandum to Cabinet for the establishment of a state-owned electricity generating company. This as South Africans have been battling load shedding for weeks over generation capacity shortages, exacerbated by the construction of the 5 500 MW Kusile power station, which remains unfinished.
