Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson, who has been on the show since 2007, has revealed why he is taking a three month sabbatical from his work on our TV screens

Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson has opened up about his decision to take a three month sabbatical from his TV career.

“Late last year, I realised I was quite burnt out and needed a creative and emotional reset. My wife said: “Why don’t you take some time out and go to the Boat Building Academy?,” he explained. Even though Jules may be taking a break from Escape to the Country, he's made it clear that he won't be leaving for good. Having first joined the show in 2007, he has been a part of it ever since.

Chatting to The Times in 2020, he said: “I found London very claustrophobic. There's an energy about it that I absolutely love, but I need green fields and space.”
