patch has been released that targets the annoying sound issues players have been experiencing, but it feels like the development team should just outright remove headsets at this point to solve the issue.that launched earlier today changes some of the sounds and tries to fix a few audio bugs. One change that will please a lot of players is that the hearing radius of sounds made while crouched has been reduced by 50%.
The other big change in the technical patch has reduced the difference in the maximum hearing radius of footsteps and voice depending on the headset you are using in the game. In simple terms, that should mean that better headsets should not have a massive advantage when it comes to hearing things further away.
It also fixes a few audio bugs, including bugs where sounds could be heard through thick walls when they shouldn’t be, and the bug where the container searching sounds would play incorrectly.to fix up a few issues is never a bad thing, I can’t help but feel it’s time thatjust got rid of the in-game headsets entirely. They have already proven to be incredibly difficult to balance, and they seem to create more issues than they are worth.
