Any tasks that you have already started across both games will still be available to progress, but you will not be able to complete them until the service resumes.
There is currently no word on how long this will last, so you may be stuck with some frozen quests for a while if this is not a quick fix. However, the wording in the social posts suggests that this should be a short term measure., with the idea being that it would finally link the two games, giving you one character to play in both experiences.
Seemingly there isn’t an immediate fix for this, and rather than let other people fall victim to the bug the team have decided to remove the functionality until it has been fixed. Given that losing progress incan be heartbreaking depending on what you lose, this seems like the right step. It might mean fewer players boot upfor the next few days until it is fixed, but that seems like a small price to pay to make sure this bug doesn’t wipe hard-earned progress.
