There are several errors in the etched marble base of the statue of the Lakers legend, including two misspelled names in the replica box score from his 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors.
The Lakers unveil the latest statue honoring one of their franchise legends, the late Kobe Bryant, on Thursday afternoon at Crypto.com Arena. The 19-foot, 4,000-pound bronze likeness depicts Bryant in his No. 8 jersey with his right index finger raised as he walked off the court following his 81-point performance against the Toronto Raptors in January 2006. LOS ANGELES — The Lakers are in the process of fixing multiple errors on the Kobe Bryant statue outside of Crypto.
“We have been aware of this for a few weeks and are already working to get it corrected soon,” a team spokesperson told the Southern California News Group on Monday.
