Mason Mount starts for Manchester United against Crystal Palace because Bruno Fernandes is unavailable and he is 'ready' to feature, according to Erik ten Hag.
It's the first time Fernandes has missed a game, excluding suspensions, since Tottenham at home in March 2022 when he was unwell and his injury is a huge blow for United. Newcastle and Chelsea both claimed victories in the Premier League over the weekend, which has seen United demoted to eighth position in the table ahead of facing Palace.
"So we're happy he's available. It was not the plan for him to start, but he has to start and he will deal with it, he's very important and can help the young players around him. I'm sure he'll bring his level.
