Eric Williams Jr. scores 43 points as the Toreros dropped a 91-89 overtime game against Utah State of the Mountain West. It was the Toreros' first loss.
Eric Williams Jr. opened the game with a steal and then a pair of free throws after drawing a foul.
“Eric was exceptional,” Toreros coach Steve Lavin said. “For a host of reasons, that was one the best performances I’ve seen in my career.” Williams scored 15 of his points in the first half, 28 in the second. His energy and activity have been a Toreros strong point thus far. From there, the teams were locked in a tight contest that saw the Toreros carry a 31-30 lead into halftime on 36.7 percent shooting and most important, 11 points off nine forced turnovers.
