This was not the only time Dane made reference to his ALS diagnosis in relation to his acting. In June 2025, he told E! News that acting"keeps me sharp. It keeps me moving forward." While he confirmed that he had suffered setbacks, he was in good spirits, and with Cal set to have a significant character arc, this was exciting news. Euphoria Season 3 Is Expected To Give Cal A Redemption Arc Eric Dane teased a redemption arc for Cal, and while it remains to be seen what will happen to the character, this would give Dane a lot to work with. In a show full of conflicted characters where few are truly good or bad, a redemption could be controversial, as Cal Jacobs' previous exploits included filming sex with teenagers.
