New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday said the Democratic Party has stopped talking about working class issues, causing it to lose voters.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Friday his city saw an increase in voters casting ballots for Republicans on Election Day because Democrats stopped talking about working class issues.
He pointed to parents afraid of not being able to pay their children’s tuition, as well as unaffordable rent and health care, as examples of the issues. Some Democratic officials during the election cycle expressed concern over claims that President-elect Donald Trump communicated an admiration for Adolf Hitler’s generals and fit the definition of a fascist in his former chief of staff’s mind.
Well, you know, part of the business of campaigning is getting your message out and being clear in your message. Even the experts in their party were saying, ‘Get back to the message: What are we doing for everyday people in the country?’” he explained.
