As it heads into what's expected to be another sizzling summer, the state grid operator is leaning into more conservation to keep its grid afloat.
Some Texans might not want to hear it, but being asked to conserve electricity during hot weather is here to stay. As it looks for ways to stretch its supply of electricity heading into what’s anticipated to be another summer of above-average temperatures, the state grid operator is also embracing “demand response” programming — which calls on users to reduce their usage when demand is high.
