Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus vows that the fans will see a different side against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in the MTN8 final.
Erasmus said Pirates will be different and that the strikers will find goals despite their CAF Champions League exit s they were dumped by Jwaneng Galaxy last weekend – reportsAhead of the clash against Sundowns in a must-win for Erasmus and his Pirates teammates, the nippy striker is confident they will be different and they will score goals. The former Sundowns hitman, Erasmus believes the work put in at training ahead of the cup tie could see Pirates turn the corner.
“I think if we can finetune that like we’ve been this week it could be a different ball game. So, we are excited for the game on the weekend, it’s gonna be a very interesting game, sold out crowd.”Heading to the sold-out affair at Moses Mabhida Stadium, coach Jose Riveiro and Pirates will look to avoid their consecutive fifth loss in all competitions. As the reigning MTN8 champions, there is no doubt that Pirates are under pressure to retain their title and avoid another loss to Sundowns.
“There’s a lot of pressure from both sides, for both sides and it’s just about how you can control that pressure in critical moments and the most important thing is execution,” he added.“Games are being won on who wants it more, more than anything. How fit you are, what form you are in. A cup final is a totally different game and I think the team that wants it more will come out victorious and I’d like to think that we as Orlando Pirates, I think we want it more.
