Among those named is Bernie Ecclestone, the longtime head of Formula One Group until 2017. Records show Epstein sent Ecclestone a package in July 2001. A decade later, Ecclestone was referenced in emails about Epstein’s unsuccessful attempt to assemble a consortium to purchase the Silverstone racetrack. Lawrence Stroll, now the owner of Aston Martin’s F1 team, also received a package from Epstein in January 2002. In separate correspondence, Stroll’s then-wife, Claire-Anne, emailed Ghislaine Maxwell apologizing for not visiting “little st jeff” — an apparent reference to Epstein’s private island.Alpine team principal Flavio Briatore, who was handed a lifetime ban from F1 in 2009 for his role in the “Crashgate” scandal, exchanged multiple emails with Epstein between 2005 and 2010. In one message, Epstein referred to Briatore as his “Italian friend.” Former FIA president Jean Todt wrote to Epstein in 2017, saying it was “nice to get to know you through our common friend Terje.”The records are part of nearly 3.5 million pages released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law by President Donald Trump.
