The final batch of Jeffrey Epstein documents has been released, detailing communications with Steve Bannon, Elon Musk, and other prominent figures. The documents shed light on Epstein's extensive network and raise further questions about his connections.

The Justice Department , under the leadership of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, has unveiled the final installment of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. These documents, released on Friday, offer a glimpse into the extensive network of individuals who communicated with the disgraced financier before his death in 2019.

The Justice Department, in compliance with a congressional mandate, disclosed more than three million pages of documents, alongside thousands of videos and photos. By the end of Friday, a substantial portion of the files, exceeding 600,000 documents, had been made public online. However, a significant number of files, identified by prosecutors as potentially releasable, remain undisclosed, drawing criticism from members of the Democratic party. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche responded to questions about the potential release of names of Epstein's alleged abusers, denying the existence of a secret client list held by the Justice Department. \The documents reveal a range of interactions, including hundreds of friendly text messages exchanged between Epstein and Steve Bannon, a former top advisor to President Donald Trump, in the months preceding Epstein's death. These messages covered a variety of topics, including politics, travel arrangements, and a documentary project that Bannon was reportedly planning to rehabilitate Epstein's public image. One exchange, from 2018, included a message from Epstein to Bannon, stating, “Now you can understand why trump wakes up in the middle of the night sweating when he hears you and I are friends.” The context of this exchange is obscured by redactions and a lack of organization within the released documents. Other communications involved discussions about President Trump's threats to remove Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Epstein also communicated with Kathy Ruemmler, a lawyer and former Obama White House official. In one email, Epstein, with multiple typos, cautioned Democrats against portraying Trump as a “Mafia-type figure” while simultaneously criticizing the president as a “maniac.” Neither Bannon nor Ruemmler immediately provided comments regarding the released information. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, also appears in the documents. He exchanged emails with Epstein in 2012 and 2013 regarding a possible visit to Epstein's private island, the location of numerous allegations of sexual abuse. The communications included an inquiry from Epstein about the number of guests Musk would bring, to which Musk responded that it would likely be only him and his partner at the time. Musk also enquired regarding the date of the most “wildest party on our island”. Musk has publicly stated he declined Epstein’s invitations.\Furthermore, the released documents detail Epstein's interactions with other prominent figures, including Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Lutnick was invited to the island in December 2012, and his wife eagerly accepted the invitation. A schedule indicates the two had drinks together on another occasion in 2011. Years later, they exchanged emails about the construction of a building near their respective homes. Lutnick has since distanced himself from Epstein, referring to him as “gross” and claiming to have severed ties with the financier decades ago. Also included in the documents are details related to Epstein's death in his jail cell in July 2019. The documents include emails exchanged between investigators about Epstein’s death, including one investigator's view that Epstein’s last communication did not resemble a suicide note. The documents reveal that jail staff used a deceptive tactic to mislead the media, using boxes and sheets to create a fake body and loading it into a white van, while Epstein’s actual body was secretly removed in a black vehicle, escaping notice. Multiple investigations have confirmed that Epstein's death was a suicide. The Associated Press reporters across the country contributed to this story. These include Michael R. Sisak and Philip Marcelo in New York, Cal Woodward in Washington, Safiyah Riddle in Montgomery, Alabama, and Meg Kinnard in South Carolina
