Entergy Texas customers will receive bill credits as a result of lower natural gas prices in 2024.

Entergy Texas customers are in for some financial relief as they'll soon see a refund on their bills due to lower fuel costs in 2024. The company explains that customers are billed a fuel charge which covers the cost of fuel used to generate electricity and energy purchased from other companies to meet customer demand. This charge fluctuates based on fuel prices. Entergy Texas emphasizes that they do not profit from fuel charges.

Lower natural gas prices in 2024 are enabling the company to pass these savings directly to its customers. The refund will be delivered as a bill credit automatically applied over three months, commencing in February. A typical residential customer consuming 1,000 kWh of energy per month can anticipate a $5.93 bill credit each month for three months, resulting in a total refund of nearly $18. It's important to note that the credit amount will vary depending on individual energy usage.'Keeping energy costs affordable is at the heart of what we do,' stated Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service at Entergy Texas. 'We understand that every dollar counts, especially during the colder months when energy bills tend to be higher. By passing these fuel savings directly to our customers, we hope to provide some relief while staying true to our commitment to delivering reliable service at the lowest possible price.
