Luis Enrique has been out of work since the 2022 Qatar World Cup, where his Spain side were knocked out in the round of 16 by Morocco. Previous to his stint with the national side, the former midfielder managed Celta Vigo and Roma, along with Barcelona, with whom he won a European treble in 2015.Nagelsmann became available more recently, on March 24, having seen Borussia Dortmund close the gap to his Bayern side with a poor run of Bundesliga form in 2023.
However, the 35-year-old did have the team excelling in both the Champions League and DFB Pokal, only for his replacement, Thomas Tuchel, to be on the verge of exiting both competitions.
